Bio:


Tina Zagyva is an inter-disciplinary artist whose work invites viewers into completely immersive environments by combining the techniques of sculpture, video, graphic design, and audio based arts to articulate narratives in public installations. Tina Z has exhibited is a variety of formats, all in keeping with the cross-genre nature of her work. Individual pieces and installations have been seen nationally and internationally at such spaces as Baie Sainte Marie Artist-in-Residency (New Edinburgh, Nova Scotia), Bauchuund Gallery (Berlin, Germany), Big Car Gallery (Indianapolis, IN), The Gear Factory (Syracuse, NY), Underbelly (Jacksonville, FL) and Lipe Art Park (Syracuse, NY).


Her research interests include the fundamental creation of myth structures coupled with an ethnographic exploration of the underpinnings of belief (both on a cultural and personal level) while exploring the ideological separation engendered by the location of the viewing experience, all while fabricating an art practice that is nomadic in nature allowing her to investigate ways to disrupt society's standard scripts. To assist in her practice, Tina Zagyva has received grants from The Gifford Foundation, Cultural Resource Council of Syracuse, NY & New York State Foundation for the Arts.
